Sleeveless Gilet

My new sleevless jacket, made out of 100 % wool fabric.
I have been searching for a nice wool fabric for a very long time. Finding one, that would contain 100 % of wool and that is not beeing unbelievably expensove is a very hard job. Finally I found one online, the only problem was, they had only 1.7 meters of fabric available. I thought that it is actually a good amount of fabric for a dress, so I bought it immediately.

Few days later when the fabric entered my apartment I was really suprised how thick and warm it was. I decided to make a jacket out of it, but actually I put it in the deepest hole in my wardrobe and than it stays till the last weeks.

Few weeks ago, while serching for some winter outfit inspiration with maxi dresses on pinterest, I found this perfect sleevless Jacket from Ralph Lauren. In this moment I have already known what fabric has been waiting for this project all this time. The wool one! Unfortunately the fabric was very thick and a lot of things I needed to do by hand, as you can see here, I needed to combine the body of the dress with the bottom only using a needle and a thread.

My sleevless jacket form behind. I used a burda style pattern 01/2019 #104.

As you can see, I used an old skirt that I am not wearing anymore as my lining. Good bye dragon dress!

I am really pleased with the outcome. The gilet is incredibly warm. It is december, and I am wearing only a shirt and my new jacket, and I am doing great.!

It is december and I am wearing ballett shoes. Where are the winters I remember form my childhood?

Although today I was wearing a maxi jeans dress and a white shirt with some plants on it, the sleevless jacket could be worn as a dress as well.

The lining is easy to see from the site, but I find it nice. This is the reason I madde it out of a red fabric.

The fabric looks amazing, I should definitely wear more green things.
There are more ruffles on the back of my dress as at the front, to make my belly looks flat. It will also be helpful while riding a bike or sitting. I am feeling like wearing a huge warm blanket. There is only one thing not everyone likes, this fabric "bites".

I have made myslef pockets for my freezing hands. A must do in winter.

Oh I have forgoten to say, that in the lalst minute I have also made me some pockets. There is nothing better as a warm place for my freezing hands in the middle of winter.
